Bakersfield police pulled over a car for a traffic violation Christmas Day and the passenger jumped into the driver seat and took off.
It happened just before 2:00 Tuesday afternoon at North Laurelglen and Gosford Road. Officers say after a routine traffic stop, they found drugs on the driver. That's when officers say the passenger got into the driver seat and took off.
The pursuit ended shortly after the driver crashed into a parked car. The driver and passenger were taken into custody, their names have not been released.
