A paraglider crashed into power lines at Hart Park and the dangling lines started a fire. A group of Boy Scouts across the river watched the whole thing happen and captured part of it on camera.
The accident happened just after 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night. Ray Schro says he was flying about 25 feet high when he had engine problems.
"My engine started to kind of cut out so I was looking for a good place to touch down," said Schro. "I was flying kind of low by the river and I didn't see the power lines. Kind of appeared out of nowhere. So I turned real hard to the left and clipped two of them."
"I don't think he saw the wires that went across the river and he just ran right into them," said Boy Scout leader Marc Urmston.
Two of the troop leaders got hit with the power line as they fell. Fire crews put out the fire before it spread.
