One dead after east Bakersfield shooting

Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting in east Bakersfield that left one man dead.

Sheriff's deputies say 33-year-old Trinidad Ortiz was shot several times around 8:30 Saturday night while walking down Monterey Street. Ortiz was taken to Kern Medical Center where he died. Witnesses saw a dark colored Honda Civic take off after the shooting.
