If someone in the school had had a weapon permit they could have lessend the impact of this tragedy commited by what appears to be a severl unbalanced man. Guns by themselves don't kill people. unbalanced people kill people. if he had not had a gun he probably would have used whatever eans he had at his disposal to commit this most heinous crime.

Well, here we go again. As a public school teacher, I am amazed that this doesn't happen more often. I know that our public schools are not safe places, and they haven't been for years. I don't know how many times I have complained to the front office about parents and others who are allowed down to the classrooms without passes or who have not been checked in properly only to be told that I am not being welcoming to the community! What? I am just trying to protect the students and staff who work here. But, I don't believe we will ever get rid of guns either. This is too rampant in U.S. society. What we need is armed guards at every site searching everyone who comes on campus. This seems like a simple solution to me.

This is the most awful tragedy I have ever heard. My daughter is in Kindergarten. I cried for the parents of the children that were lost. Here is a story for you KGET -- why don't you do a report and ask our local school districts WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO MAKE SURE OUR LOCAL STUDENTS ARE SAFE.

My heart is broken and I am terribly devestated by this tragic event. As a parent I can't imagine going though something like this. My prayers go out to the families of those innocent babies. God be with them.

This makes me absolutely sick!!! What are these people thinking about? What did these children EVER do to deserve this???
