New details are emerging in the case of a Bakersfield man arrested in connection with the homicide of a one-year-old boy.

Joaquin Ramirez, Jr. died September 22, 2010.

Court documents show the day before his death, Joaquin was in the sole care of Carlos Laguna, his mother's live-in boyfriend.

Laguna told detectives the two were home all day and that the baby fell off his bed twice.

However, the report says the doctor that performed the child's autopsy said his injuries couldn't have been caused from falling off the bed.

Court documents also show Laguna failed a polygraph exam.
