Alot of you will make up a bunch of crap just to make a point, but the reality is that pot does not do as much harm as alcohol or any other hard core drugs. Those of you who are going to vote yes on G are only helping gangsters sell back to those who do smoke and thus creating more crime, not only indangering your kids who might be pot smokers but those other people who use it for medical reasons. If only our society would be advanced enough to know that Cannabis can be used for clothing, insulation, fuel, and lots of other economical uses to it which would help us out if only those voting no on G would do a little bit of research. Look up positive effects of Cannabis and out weigh the negative, trust me there is alot more positive

I think pot is goin g to be considered a medicine than it should only be sold in a pharmacy where normal medicine is sold! If you have to have a legal card than you should also have to have a DR RX for it too which should make it only accessalble in a pharmacy! Do you know how rediculously easy it is to get a card? They have them all over Venice Beach! There is a "DR" there who will give you a card if u just say you have some stupid chronic illness. Its just a way for people to smoke legally and I think its rediculous! YES! Move them to the out skirts of town! FAR AWAY from my chidren!

I simply say to akorage this: Why do people go out to eat when they can cook at home? Why go to clothing stores to buy their clothes when it clothes can be made at home? Many patients dont know how to grow decient medical marijuana, dont have the resources, arent well enough to or simply enjoy being able to go to a shop where friendly professionals can help them with their needs. As far as these shops effecting our children, it has no more effect than the neighborhood liquor store, smoke shop, corner pharmacy, a movie theatre or even "Deja Vu" (an exotic nightclub/adult store in Bakersfield). None of them give back to their community (food drives, fund raisers etc), get involved or provide onsite security! If you take into concideration the mention of robberies of convient stores or at ATMs, muggings at local taverns, spousal abuse, reported desturbences or even overdosing, killings or even child endangerment cases...it wont involve a medical marijuana shop or a patient.

Pre 1937 there was over 2,000 cannabis medicines that people could buy legally. The Hemp can produce bio-fuel, paper, housing, textiles, food, oil, MEDICINE and the list goes on and on. I can't believe what I'm reading on here. If collectives are made illegal everywhere except small, remote area's of the county then patients who normally have access to safe medication, many of whome have terminal illnesses that prevent them from being able transport themselves to remote areas of the county or maintain a personal gardens, will either be forced to suffer without medicine or face prosecution if they are caught buying cannabis on the street. Everyone that says they are going to vote yes needs to step back and think about who their decisions will affect. Not just about their own personal morals. Wether you agree that medical cannabis is a viable medication, or not, you should all consider that freedom is at the center of this. Freedom to choose either to use a natural medicine with no lethal side-effects that God put on this Earth or possibly lethal pharmaceutical drugs that cause booklets worth of side effects. Shame on everyone who has turned to pharmaceutical drugs and turned away from the goodness that God created for us to naturally alleviate our ills. The drugs and anti-depressants that infect this country have just brainwashed so many it makes me worry about the future of our county.

Why do people in Kern County need dispensaries(where they buy from) when they are allowed to grow 12 plants of their own for free. Seems like pot smoking is mendling with thinking in Kern County. Californians love to waste time on useless issues. This one is not even an issue unless the dispensaries are there to sell canabbis to minors.

Anyway two yes votes just went in the mail box for measure G, two yes votes on measure 29 also!I'm sure some gay judge will over turn this anyway but atleast the voters will have our say!

Wow jmabbott, ONE pot shop gets robbed in, like, how many years? Grocery stores are robbed more often than that. Let's ban grocery stores! They attract crime!

I don't know what kind of people you associate yourself with murph but I know a lot of "pot heads" as well and none of them are in jail, mental, or dead. You and every other marijuana hater are just brainwashed, I guess "Reefer Madness" really got to you.

scc123 Your right I do have an emotional attachment to pot, almost all of my old friends that had a problem with pot when younger and on into their adult years are locked up,are under mental care or dead, the only ones of us that have been successful in life are the few that never got into this crap. So you can say what you wish about your pot, I have seen what happens to people that smoke this crap all their lives and it's not good!
