Paranah, this was the price that we were quoted for a flight in November 2011.

@ SATC3456, you can catch a flight out of Bakersfield and go most anywhere you want. $500 from BFL to LAX? You can get a flight from BFL to New York JFK for $436 one way, double it for a round trip. But I agree a direct flight to Vegas again would be great without the transfer in Phoenix.

My wife and I use to fly out of LAX, but about 3 years ago we started flying out of BFL. After figuring the cost of long term parking, gas, a hotel stay overnight to catch an early flight, and the time and aggravation to drive to and from L.A., we figured it was made more sense to fly out of BFL. So far we have had no complaints with the service at the airport.

They need to do their Vegas weekend flights for $100 again, I'm sure that will boost people flying. Especially with the price of gas. I think a lot of people would take advantage of that. Also, my husband and I have tried using this airport, but they don't offer flights anywhere! When we decided to go to NewYork, a flight even just down to LA was over $500 just for one ticket. If they get some decent prices and some good deals, than people will start using them again

Need to do something quick to get this airport turned around. No staff at the ticket counters, two airlines and nothing but piss poor attitudes. Crap shot whether they'll be someone at the counter so you can make a flight on time and often have to get there for a domestic flight earlier than you would to go international. There would be many more passengers going through Meadows if they'd just get it operating correctly and be more conducive for more airlines in. Until then folks will continue to make a drive down south to a real airport.
