A man is in serious condition after crashing his pickup truck into a power pole.

The crash happened just after 6:00 p.m. Sunday on Malaga Road in Lamont.

CHP officers say the man was driving east on Malaga Road when he lost control of his truck and crashed into a power pole. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to extricate the man from his truck.

It's unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash and officers don't know if the man was wearing his seatbelt. The crash is under investigation.
