Arvin police and Sheriff's deputies are investigating the shooting death of a man in Arvin Monday morning.
Officers say the shooting happened after 4:00 a.m. The man was in his early thirties and found dead in the front yard of a home at C and 4th Streets. No one else was discovered injured.
"Someone heard shots fired and reported it, and some of the officers heard shots fired and responded to the area," said Arvin Police Chief Tommy Tunson.
Deputies helped tape off the area and crime scene technicians were headed to the area to help collect evidence.
No arrests have been made.
