Now that Christmas is over, what do you plan to do with your tree? Why not recycle it!

There are several places around Kern County accepting Christmas trees. They include: the Kern County Fairgrounds, Bakersfield College, Bena Landfill, and the Mt. Vernon Recycling Facility.

CSUB is not a drop off point this year, though many people have been illegally dumping their trees there.

There are also non-profit groups willing to pick up your tree for a donation. One of those is Fun Sports. For $10 the non-profit Fun Sports will come get your tree from your home. The money goes toward its winter basketball league.

To schedule a pick-up call John Bagala at 378-2749. His service runs through January sixth.
