I think the sheriff didn't understand that it's not that he won't enforce any illegal gun law or mandates but "Would he Block" any fed from coming into OUR/HIS county and try to take action to enforce any illegal law/mandate!

I don't think it is about CA gun laws, Mr. Youngblood. I think it is about telling the federal government that they do NOT have more authority than our local government. I was out of the country (stationed there with my husband who was in the military at the time) when the gun laws were passed in CA and had I been here I would have spoken out against the State for infringing on the 2nd Amendment as well as mandating gun laws in the counties. The Founding Fathers envisioned the local government having the highest authority in the land, followed by the states and then the federal government. A letter to the President merely informs him of the chain of command in this country. Also, I believe if you were to read all the legislation that the feds are trying to pass you may find that the laws are sweeping and will add additional restrictions on CA gun owners and further infringements on the 2nd Amendment.

I love my 2nd Amendment right, but dont understand why the Tea Party want our sherriff to send a letter. All those laws are already in effect in our state. Even if the Sherriff was successfull, we still would be restricted under state law. Did the Tea party run out of Mexicans to harrass that they want to continue with the Sherriff?

It is Youngbloods duty to protect OUR 2nd amendment. Forget Obama.
