My nephew and best friends brother both earned Purple Hearts. However, they didn't ASK for them. I think that just by whining and complaining that he didn't get one. He should be denied. A Purple Heart should be freely given. Not begged for. Way to go Marine.

By the story he deserves a Purple Heart But that's the military. My dad served in Europe during WW2 and didn't put in for a Purple Heart where his two brothers were stationed in the states and never saw action. At the end of the war there was a notice if anyone felt they deserved a Purple Heart they should sign up. Both uncles signed up and received their Purple Hearts because they were nicked while shaving and drew blood. Go figure that logic.
