BAKERSFIELD, CA - Kern County radio personality Ralph Bailey has resigned from his top-rated talk show and didn't give a reason why.

KNZR Vice President and General Manager Mary Lou Gunn said she was surprised yesterday when Bailey called her and resigned. She said Bailey offered two weeks notice, but it is common practice in radio for such resignations to be immediately effective.

A local activist filled in for Bailey Thursday.

On his Facebook page, bailey said, "future opportunities and challenges make it virtually impossible not to seek out new adventures," but he didn't say what those adventures might be.

Finally! His show has been a broken record for the past 10 years. I can now keep my radio tuned th KNZR from 3 - 6.

Giving his employer of 10-years notice over the telephone is VERY UN-PROFESSIONAL. That gobbledigook about "future opportunities and challenges (that) make it virtually impossible not to seek out new adventures” was the fact that he was not included in the sale of WOR in New York. He is so full of himself (and wine) to think he could qualify for the New York market. Best of Luck, Mr. B. You will need it where you are going.
