Wake up Kern County you’ve been lied to by our local politicians, they are trying to eradicate medical marijuana facilities. These marijuana establishments are paying taxes, and the feds are closing down marijuana facilities that are within 1,000 feet away from schools, not paying taxes, and selling marijuana without their proper permits, or for cultivating more than the federal limit. We voted for medical marijuana, and as soon as normal upstanding people got involved, not “drug dealers,” is when the supervisors want to find a way to shut it all down. Of course these Co-op’s and Collective’s will push back, if their legitimate, with their proper licenses, and permits, and paying an arm and a leg for taxes, and the county approved them. They are mom and pop establishments, and our local “small” governments are being sneaky and want to take it all away. Why won’t the news investigate if there really were secondary nuisances to enforce this ordinance? Are these places legitimate? And the difficulty it will be for patients to have access to their holistic medicine when our county shut’s it all down? Also, will crime go up as a result of causing this back market? They won’t because of special interests. They provide pharmacies for those who choose synthetics, now give us our safe access that is what we vote for in 1996. Don’t let these “small” government politicians close down what is left of small, local, taxpaying businesses. -Alcohol Zoning is 600 ft away from schools. -A sex offender in Kern County has to live 2,000 feet away schools. -Strip clubs in Kern County have to be 1,000 feet away from schools. -Medical marijuana 1 mile away from schools churches and parks, according to our supervisors. -According to STATE LAW medical marijuana has to be at least 1,000 feet away from schools churches or parks, why can’t our supervisors go by state law? The county abused their power and created an ordinance that zoned these medical marijuana providers out of business. Therefore, this is hateful, negligent government, and they do not deserve to recieve a paycheck from our tax payer dollars. Paranah, I'm not surprised the dopers choose to ignore the outcome of the election. Almost all the pot smokers I have know or have dealt with, and that is thousands, don't have much regard for the laws and rules anyway.

The pot heads and the shops wanted the decision to go to the voters. The voters didn't vote the way they wanted, so ignor the voting results. Time for the city and county to quit screwing around with the pot heads and shop owners and call in the federal drug enforcement and let them enforce the federal laws like some of the cities in Calif have done.

I dont see major issues with these shops the truth of the whole deal is that Whether we like it or not people get drugs on the streets easy as 123 and why not keep the shops around and charge taxes and all the other stuff that comes with owning shop!! either way kern county at one point was the county in all cali with the most meth

I remember before the election that Ganong said repeatedly, "We'll let the voters decide..." referring Measure G, and how the pot shops would listen to the will of the people. Well, the people spoke, but it wasn't what the local potheads--and their puppet lawyer--wanted to hear. Apparently he's not a man of his word, and he hasn't abandoned his fight.
