BAKERSFIELD, CA - Hundreds of local gun advocates will rally this weekend, for a "Day of Resistance." Gun owners from around Kern County hope to send lawmakers a message in Washington D.C. and Sacramento urging them to stay away from their guns.
President Obama is pushing for new gun control laws including universal background checks and limits on ammunition magazines. Organizers of this weekend's rally say gun owners are fed up.
The rally is Saturday at Bear Mountain Sports at 8032 Di Miller Drive, off Weedpatch Highway. The event is free and open to everyone.
Several gun groups will be at the rally along with some local lawmakers.
