BAKERSFIELD, CA - A Kern County Sheriff's detention deputy is under arrest, accused of holding a loaded gun to his wife's head.
Bakersfield police say 30-year-old James Tackitt, Jr. got into an argument with his wife Wednesday morning. During the argument, police say Tackitt got a semi-automatic weapon, loaded it and pointed it at his wife's head, while making her kneel on the ground in a closet.
Police say Tackitt threatened to shoot her and himself.
The woman was able to talk Tackitt into putting the weapon down and letting her leave with her child.
Tackitt was booked into the Kern County jail on several charges, including making criminal threats and aggravated assault with a firearm.
