An infant died over the weekend during a camping trip in Lake Isabella.

Detectives say two month old Jordyn Smith slept with her parents Saturday night in the bed of a pickup truck. The family had been camping at the French Gulch campground in Lake Isabella. When the parents woke up Sunday morning, the infant was not breathing.

Kern County Firefighters say the parents took her to a fire station on Lake Isabella Boulevard. She was then taken to Kern Valley Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

It's a sad thing to keep hearing over and over when will people learn, when we went camping we took a fold up play pen for our babies to sleep in, it made things better all the way around for us and them. There sould be a new law for when this happens and maybe people will thank before more infants die!
