If he would have done the gas transfer, he would have been COOKING a cake for his daughter's 18th birthday in OILDALE.

So, 17 News is trying to make themselves look like heroes for helping out an irresponsible family to get an earlier appointment. How does 17 News feel about the responsible family that got bumped?

Here's th key statement in this article, "The Chambers family just moved in, the heat was on, and they were excited about their new place". With an 18 yr old I suspect Chambers has owned or rented before and should know gas and electricity doesn't automaticaly come with the house, yet due to his incompentance to get the services transfered to his name he runs to Channel 17.

It took over 3 weeks for ours to get turned on. The Gas Co. told me the same thing. "busiest time of year..." Here's the beauty I was completely unaware that the Gas Co.was responsible for our gas because the G in PG&E stands for gas... Needless to say we were at their mercy. Luckily we could shower at my parents and I bought an electric skillet to cook. In response to previous comment I had everything in my name before I moved in. I've never had to utilize the Gas Co.because PG&E was always provide that service. Not putting anyone at fault it is just a lesson I've learned. I do have to say the gentleman that came to turn our gas on was fabulous and very hlpful. He did state the they were shorthanded. Lesson learned.

Jimmy Chambers should have thought about putting the gas in his name before he moved in. Any responsible man would have done that for his family.
