A small restaurant in Arvin caught fire overnight.
At about 2:00 a.m., a passing Arvin police officer noticed flames and smoke in the 300 block of Bear Mountain Boulevard and called firefighters. When crews arrived they found the fire burning in the kitchen of the Erawan Thai Restaurant.
Crews were able to keep the flames contained to the kitchen. Damage is estimated at 100 thousand dollars.
No one was hurt and the cause is under investigation.
