A family feud broke out Friday afternoon at the funeral for a Taft boy who died under suspicious circumstances.

3-year-old James Fanshier died last week after he was found unconscious and bruised.

He was laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in northeast Bakersfield.

Authorities have not said how the toddler died or who might be responsible, but some of his caregivers blame others.

When everyone got together at the funeral, a heated argument broke out.

Family members say James died in the care of his father's ex-girlfriend.

This little boy cried out for help and no one cared. My heart aches. He told people that he was being hurt by that man. Ans still you didn't call to turn him in. Stormy knew her boyfriend used james as a punching bag. It was obvious the boy was black and blue. Stormy said she would handle it when she was confronted about the abuse. All of the people that knew and did nothing are just as guilty as the man who actually did this. It makes me sick to hear that nothing was done for this child. He layed there everynight in pain with broken bones, ruptured spleen, and a fractured skull. His ear was twisted so bad it was detached from the cartlidge that conected to his head. And had no one to hug him or save him from that torture. What in the hell could a three year old do to deserve this. Nothing thats right Nothing and no one did anything to save him. I hope you all get what you deserve. I say all of you know who you are. Justice will be served.

That sad part about it is this family of the baby never had anything to do with him. The ex-girfriend who had the baby has been taking care of him and not getting any financial help from from either of his parents who apparently were getting welfare for him. Stormie loved that child like her own and how dare that family take money from Stormie and her family to pay for the funeral and then make such a big deal that they were there. stromies fmaily was very respectful through the entire service and stayed back, it was the TACKY family who did nothing to help him while he was alive who acted imature. May that baby rest in peace and the truth will prevail.

Its really sad that it takes the death of a child for people to relize that the time to stand up for any child there own or someone elses is when they are still alive i can not beleive that some family member or friend did not know this little boy was being abused and chose not to speak up (narc, snitch) whatever label they would have been given would have been worth at least this little boys life and he would have still been alive. Say no to drugs the destroyer of family and young lives!!!!

These people saying that the parents didn't have any respect for their son and that they shouldn't have cared who was there have apparently never dealt with such a loss. I haven't and I pray I never know their pain. Just imagining it is bad enough. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I pray the family gets through this, and that justice is served by those that are supposed to judge, not a "community" that only part of the story.

This is truly a sad sad situation that should never happen. However, when a child grows up in such a unstable environment (dad leaves child with ex girlfriend) there is bound to be a bad outcome. Evan was failed by his parents. James was failed by his parents. It's a vicous cycle that will continue unless somewhere along the line there is change. Stop doing drugs, getting tatoo's, drinking and live. There is more to life than collecting welfare.

Evan was a good dad. I personally know that the one thing he cherrished in this world was little James. He was a student of mine for 2+ years. Every assignment had his little boys name on it, and knowing hes gone hurts my heart for all of his family, especially Evan's. I wish all the families peace at such a bad moment in their lives. James is resting in God's care now, and he will never again know pain. My sincerests prayers are with Evan, and all the families involved. Evan you can come by my classroom at CLC TECH anytime, and just know you still have someone who will allways love you! Sincerely, Mr Prows
