Six employees at a manufacturing plant made it out alive after the facility went up in smoke.

Firefighters responded to the Containment Solutions plant on Pegasus Drive near Meadows Field around 9:30 Thursday night.  The company makes fiberglass petroleum storage tanks.

Firefighters worried some of the chemicals used in the process might have caught fire so a hazardous materials team was called in to help.

"We knocked the flames down in a matter of minutes. Now we're in the process of trying to determine what kinds of chemicals may have been involved," said Kern County Fire Department Captain Derek Tisinger.

None of the six employees working at the time were injured.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
