Two dozen unwanted animals have new homes in Bakersfield, thanks to some kind-hearted viewers who answered the call to this year's "Unleash Your Love" adoption drive for the SPCA.

Tripod, the three-legged Labrador, who's been at the shelter for a year-and-a-half was adopted Tuesday.

So was Titus, a massive Mastiff mix. He's been at the SPCA for more than two years.

Along with them, 22 other dogs and cats were adopted, and more than $9,000 in cash was donated to help keep the no-kill shelter running.

Scores of volunteers helped out all day, starting at 5:30 in the morning.

Special thanks go to local veterinarians Rose Rakow and Robert Duquette for all the time they gave microchipping and vaccinating people's pets at discounted rates.
