It's out with the old to make way for the new. Many people are making room for their new Christmas goodies.
Goodwill has seen an increase in donations over the last couple of days. Everything from clothes and shoes to toys and household items.
"Typically the last week in December right after Christmas is very busy for us. Then all of January is typically very busy for donations. People are starting the new year, they want a fresh start, they're cleaning out house, cleaning out their old clothes, bringing in new things. And as the economy turns around, as people shop more, as consumer confidence increases, we get more donations," said Ken Beurmann, VP of Business Development at Goodwill. "They're clearing out the old to bring in the new."
Goodwill is a non-profit organization that relies on community donations for its jobs program. Donations are tax deductible.
