hmoore and everybody else: He committed no crime. He draws attention because he is a pro bowl NFL'er. Success draws its share of enemies in Bakersfield-especially if you're African American. How about honestly looking at the work he's done in this community. I don't see Korn doing benefit concerts here and Frank Gifford pretends he's never heard of Bakersfield. HE isn't perfect, but he deserves fair treatment. A fair look at the evedence should leave a reasonable person to doubt that any LAW was actually broken that night. PLEASE PEOPLE-FAIRLY ASSESS WHAT WE'VE BEEN TOLD!!! Battery? DUI? Resisting Arrest??? The allegations are so doubtful they're silly!

Joey Porter seems to bring trouble with him every time he crosses the Bakersfield line. He just needs to stay somewhere where he cant get into any trouble. Obviously, thats not here.

Why is the CHP officer still able to report to duty and arrest other people for DUI when he is facing his own DUI charges....I though that when you are DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE that meant your license were taken away....doesnt he need a license of operate a patrol car. It must be because he's a White BPD officer...because it's apparent that a Black man cannot sit inside his vehicle at Taco Bell and not be harrassed. Wow what a prejudice town we live in. And we call these officer our hero's....

@RVLADY.."DA fell down on this one. If he's getting off is firefighter that killed women getting off?" puts Joey in the same category as a man who's actions caused someone to lose their life! So RV, I suggest you re-read your own comment. And your "next time" comment shows your faith in your fellow man/neighbor.. come on people, wake up & realize the comments you make can really harm a person.

Hey darth 1st off the police don't need to have cause cause, to ask you for i.d. when you pull up behind them and start acting a fool. He made is crappy situation he was in. I'm ashamed at the D.A. again for not having the balls, (oh wait Lisa Green is a chick and don't have any, and Ed Jagels has them in his mouth) for not doing their job. Way to hang the CHP out to dry D.A.. If the officer would of not had a dui case in court or maybe have been black would you look at the case any differently? fact is he got celebrity treatment, arrested and booked a little over a hour later so he can hurry up and be released on a O.R. isn't cool, any other mr. and mrs. tax payer would of did the min. 12hour in jail!!!

Duh - regardless of what you do or don't know, Porter is a thug. His money and stature in this town are the only reasons he didn't go to jail like any ordinary Joe would have done. A punk always gets what's coming to him. Sensei... you're funny!!!!!

ruger- 1.HE was parked near the scene, but didn't actually pull up behind the officer-they were in a parking lot. 2. He wasn't legally drunk. 3. The officer was the agressor. 4. I'll just say I know for a fact (the public will know more soon enough) that the arrest was personal.
