The Highway Patrol says a 19-year-old Arvin woman died after her car collided with a tractor-trailer south of Bakersfield.
Investigators say the woman was driving a Toyota Corolla southbound on Wheeler Ridge Road near Herring Road passing vehicles across the broken yellow lines. That's when for some unknown reason, her car struck a Peterbuilt tractor-trailer, driven by 51-year-old Moises Aguilar of Santa Maria.
The woman and Aguilar were taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment. Aguilar was treated for minor injuries. The woman's identity has not been released pending notification of family members. Investigators say the woman was not wearing a seat belt.
