Bakersfield Police say human remains found in 2008 and 2009 in the Mojave Desert are those of former Deju Vu exotic dancer Azita Nikooei.  The department had been contacted by the San Bernardino County authorities earlier this month, letting police know about their findings.

In 2008, a human right femur was found by gold miners southeast of Red Mountain and five miles east of Highway 395 in the Mojave Desert.  In 2009, a left human pelvis and femur were found by gold miners in the same general area.  The San Bernardino County coroner says the remains were extremely bleached indicating they were exposed to the elements for a long time, coinciding with her disappearance.

The remains were later forwarded to the Department of Justice for identification.  They were later compared with DNA obtained from Nikooei and a positive match was obtained.
