Computer virus hits Kern Medical Center

Kern Medical Center was expected to have the last of its computers up and running properly Tuesday after a software virus attacked its servers and made hospital operations nearly impossible.

Why in the world would a computer system containing vital information like this be connected to an online service of any kind? Dr's and staff surfing the web for porno, sending and receiving e-mail, or doing research online should be using a computer that in no way is connected to the computers containing patients records.
