The community helped make another successful holiday food drive.

"We see about 10,000 families a month across Kern County coming through our doors," said Ian Anderson, Program Manager at Community Action Partnership of Kern. "This will help to make sure this holiday season is a little bit brighter for those who may be less fortunate."

Generous viewers dropped off donations outside the KGET studios to help the Kern County food bank stock its shelves. In all, more than 14 thousand pounds of food was collected and more than 86 hundred dollars in cash, enough to buy another 78 thousand pounds of food.

A big thank you to all of you who gave.

Another great food drive benefitting Golden Valley Gleaners is going on at Ashley Furniture in Rosedale. I got 20% off my order there yesterday just for bringing in 20 canned goods. I was able to help out the needy and save myself some cash
