It was a frightening end to the Christmas Day holiday for one Bakersfield family after a car crashed into their apartment. The accident happened around 5:30 Tuesday evening in the 3600 block of Micheli Court.

Bakersfield police say the driver overshot a parking spot and crashed into the building and into Brittany Cartwright's apartment. Cartwright said her family was enjoying the holiday when they heard the crash and jumped out of the way.

"I never thought no one would do this to me and this is the Christmas I have to live for and it seems the cops don't wanna do nothing to help me but I'm praying to God that they will help me because I have to live here," said Cartwright.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

Horrible. How come the police can't do anything? Don't they carry a Dewalt drill, extra nails and a hammer on that belt? Could they not shower this poor, poor lady with a couple of Benjamins to put her out of her misery. Ode to humanity! What has this world come to!!!! (Come on lady. Come to grips. I'm sure you're the reponsible type and have renter's insurance to cover the damage to your personal belongings and temporary living arrangements until your apartment is repaired, right????)

She thinks "someone did this to me?" Does she really think this was done on purpose by the driver? IDIOT! I wonder if she called 911 on her "Obama phone"?

What'this world coming to? The cops should carry lumber, nails, Stucko and the necessary tools to fix the appartment while they were there investigating the accident. LOL The appartment owner should have insurance to fix the appartment, but being a renter she has no insurance on the building. So toughen up and either get a motel room or get out a couple extra blankets untill it's fixed.

Agree, just what does she want the police to do pay for it to be repaired of maybe she would like for us tax payers to fork over the cash! This is the reason for insurance, both on the car and on the property!Like that's going to happen!

What exactly is it she wants the cops to do? They aren't carpenters.
