A tradition in one Bakersfield community brought out the red white and blue.

The Fourth of July Westchester Parade is a tradition that includes peple of all ages, music and and even a Civil War cannon. Westchester residents filed down the street one by one to show off their American pride.

One man we spoke with isn't from here, but he says he's just as happy to be part of Bakersfield's celebration. "It's amazing," said Christopher Hay. "I think if you look across America you can see a lot of this going on in small towns.  I'm from Meridian, Mississippi and it's a real patriotic town. You go there, you poke around a neighborhood you might find one there."

17 News anchor Jim Scott emceed the event and remarked that it's events like these are a piece of Americana.
