A Bakersfield woman is $17 million richer, after winning the SuperLotto. The woman's identity remained a mystery, until Tuesday in Fresno. Teresa Serrano is California's newest multi-millionaire.
She won the Superlotto Plus jackpot on Saturday in Bakersfield. She was presented with an over sized check for $17 million dollars. Serrano said her husband checked the tickets and saw she had won. When asked if she believed him when he told her, she said she did.
News of the big win still hasn't sunk in just yet, according to Serrano. "It still seems like a dream," she said. Serrano and her family decided to take all the money in a lump sum, which comes to about $11 million. Serrano said they will use their new found fortune to help take care of their five children.
Serrano wasn't the only big winner Saturday night. The owners of the Ming Avenue Shell Station where she bought the ticket will receive a bonus of $85,000.
