The Hooter's restaurant set for Rosedale Highway is still coming, but it will be delayed, according to Hooters headquarters in Atlanta. There is no new opening date.

The chain, which is famous for hot wings and skimpily clad waitresses, was set to open a new restaurant next month in the Rosedale Square shopping center, two blocks west of Costco.

That was a preliminary estimate, said Hooters spokeswoman Alexis Aleshire. Routine delays and typical business start-up glitches have made that impossible, and it's not immediately possible to form a reliable new estimate of an opening date.

Hooters has more than 450 restaurants in 43 states and 26 countries, according to its website. ''The element of female sex appeal is prevalent in the restaurants,'' the site says, ''The company believes the Hooters Girl is as socially acceptable as a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, or a Radio City Rockette.''

It says Hooters is ''delightfully tacky, yet unrefined."
