TheTruth below has a comment that is right on... and it is not just in Kern County. The clear majority of police agencies nationwide are hopelessly corrupted (just like the government that they serve). It is a difficult concept to accept, but once one researches the facts for oneself, there is no other conclusion to be made.

Proudpatriot, I have spent my life in the military for this country and I have seen Evil!! Rest assure that the law enforcement in Kern County and Bakersfield and the DA's office fall right in that category. Each department knows what goes on in the streets with their officers and their employees but choose to do nothing until they get caught and only then do they do something to defuse the situation in the publics eye. It is just like the Vatican and the priests that abuse young kids but it keeps happening and we all know it and do nothing!! But who is going to stop it!!Knowing about it and not stopping it is as bad as performing the act. For you to think it won’t happen to you or one of your love ones you are crazy. When you or your family are on the other end of the BPD, Kern County Sheriff’s Department or The District Attorney’s office you will know. Then you won’t sit there and call people morons.

Morons. Not every person in the BPD is evil. That is the most ignorant thing I have ever heard. You have yet to meet every single person in the BPD thus your statement is illogical and downright retarded. Sorry but it's true.

Are you serious Lancerandol? If he had taken the woman's stollen property after work and offered to return it in exchange for sex by saying please, to you that would be proper? Which department do you work for, BPD or KCSD?

People might have to start fending for themselves since we obviously can't count on the BPD. There's always some officer being arrested for something (usually drugs or sex) and these are so called sworn officers of the law.... are you kidding me?

They are all Bad!!!!!! BPD, Kern County Sheriff’s Department, ECT. You can’t trust law enforcement any more to do the right thing and be trusted. This is just a case that they felt they had to do something with to cover their department. What about the rest of them that gets away with it all the time and cover for one another year after year. This crap will keep happening nothing will ever change!!!!! They are no different than the gangs on the streets. Use power and intimidation to get what they want.

The BPD took no time on arresting the suspect. You got to weed the bad from the good.
