Several McFarland police officers are on administrative leave due to their involvement in an officer-involved shooting yesterday in Delano.

McFarland police were investigating auto burglaries when officers came across several men taking apart some cars.  Police say when officers confronted the men, two got in cars and took off.

One man, identified as Randy Ferreira, led officers on a chase to Delano where McFarland officers eventually shot and wounded him after they say he tried to pull out a weapon. Investigators say Ferreira was driving a stolen truck.

He was taken to Kern Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
