Former Arvin Police Chief Tommy Tunson was scheduled to publicly challenge his firing at the Arvin City Council meeting last night, but he was a no show.

He was slated to address city management and city council members during a formal administrative hearing at City Hall. Tunson requested the hearing, but never showed up. We were unable to reach him or his attorney for an explanation on why they skipped the hearing.

Tunson was given notice last month that he was being terminated as police chief after officers previously filed a vote of no-confidence against him.

Tunson claims he's the victim of racial discrimination.

according to his own officers he was a poor chief, kinda looks like his race may have got him the job in the first place.
