Local Veteran Evan Morgan lost his legs in combat.

This weekend, he's competing in a triathalon in San Diego.

Trevor Townsend and the team at the Valley Institute of Prosthetics and Orthotics tinker for hours making sure new legs fit just right.

One option for is a C leg. C is for a computer processor that monitors the knee joint in the prosthetic leg more than 50 times a second.

This affords them the opportunity to not to have to think about the prosthesis. It gives them a lesser chance of falling.

Evan morgan, who lost both his legs and sight in his right eye, will compete in a triathalon Saturday and Sunday in Oceanside.

The team at the Valley Institute of Prosthetics helped build prosthetic legs for Morgan and incorporated his military fatigues into the plastic.

They said he is proud to wear them.

Tune into Channel 17 news this weekend to see coverage of Morgan's triathalon.
