Apartment fire leaves 11 without homes

BAKERSFIELD, CA - Almost a dozen people are without a home Thursday morning after a fire broke out in central Bakersfield.

The fire broke out just after midnight at an apartment complex in the 600 block of A Street. City fire says the fire started in the attic and damaged three units.

Multiple families evacuated the building. The Red Cross is assisting six adults and five children.

The cause and estimated damage is unknown.
