Jolly Kone makes way for road project

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A classic Bakersfield eatery has closed its doors to make way for future roadways.

The Jolly Kone on Wible Road and Belle Terrace closed its doors to make way for the Centennial Corridor Project.

The owner told 17 News the store had to go because of upcoming construction.

That location sits right at the corner of the bridge over Highway 99, which the city plans to rebuild to fit more lanes.
