BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The coroner's office released the name of a pedestrian hit on Union Avenue nearly six weeks after she was killed.
The coroner identified 46 year old Bernadette Elizabeth Hill as the person killed near the intersection of Union Avenue and East 11th Street on March 6.
Hill was hit just before 6:30 p.m. and died at the scene.
Bakersfield police officers say the driver stopped and cooperated with the investigation.
According to a 17 News count, seven pedestrians have been killed in 2018. Last year, 42 people were hit and killed on Kern County roads.
