BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield firefighters are hoping to bring in boots full of cash to help people witjh life-threatening diseases.
It's nearly time for the annual Fill the Boot fundraiser.
Bakersfield firefighters will raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Several life-threatening diseases cause muscular dystrophy, robbing people of the ability to walk, talk or even breathe.
The fundraiser is happening Friday at the intersection of Rosedale Highway and Mohawk Street. Firefighters will be out from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. with their boots in hand.
