3 people found dead Wednesday morning in 2 separate incidents

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - One man was found dead on a road in Taft less than an hour after two bodies were found burned in a vineyard near Arvin, in what are now two separate homicide investigations.

Kern County Sheriff's Office was called out to Di Giorgio Road and Tejon Highway, just outside of Arvin, around 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Firefighters were initially dispatched to the area for a brush fire. When they arrived they discovered burned bodies.

KCSO said it is unclear if the victims were killed prior to being set on fire. Investigators will not say the gender or age of either victim.

They are investigating the deaths as a double homicide.

Less than an hour later, deputies received a separate call of a man down on a road in Taft suffering from a gunshot wound.

KCSO responded to Crystal Street and Olive Avenue where crews performed CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with information on either of these cases is encouraged to call KCSO at 861-3110.

By KGET's count, there have been 49 homicides this year.
