The CHP has reopened Interstate 5 over the Grapevine just before 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. It had been closed due to snow and ice.
Officers reported several crashes due to slick conditions, including two semi trucks that tangled near Frazier Mountain Park Rd.
Northbound Interstate 5 was closed in Castaic. Southbound traffic was being diverted off at Grapevine Road.
Piute Mountain and Caliente Elementary were closed due to snow and ice Wednesday. Schools in the El Tejon Unified, Mojave Unified and Tehachapi Unified School Districts also were closed. Kern Valley High canceled bus service To Havilah.
