A Bakersfield Police officer received injuries described as "moderate" Friday morning when the motorcycle he was riding struck a pickup truck on Olive Drive.
A Highway Patrol sergeant at the scene identified the BPD officer as Ronnie Dulan, a 9-year veteran of the force.
The accident happened on Olive Drive, just west of Knutsen Drive, at about 7:20 Friday morning.
CHP Sgt. Michelle Skieresz said the pickup was headed west and turning south into the driveway of the Corky McMillan office.
All east bound traffic -- headed toward Highway 99 at rush hour -- was stopped, she said.
The pickup truck drove in front of the eastbound traffic stopped in the fast lane and pulled into the slow lane when the officer struck it, Skieresz said.
It was not immediately determined which driver was at fault.
Dulan's injuries included a compound fracture of the left arm.
The driver of the pickup was not injured.
