Two Kern County schools have been removed from the list of lowest achieving schools.

Kern County Superintendent of Schools was notified by the State Board of Education Thursday afternoon that Boron Junior-Senior High School and Rosamond High School are no longer on the list.

A spokesman for the superintendent of schools says the board of education added 37 low-performing schools to the list, and then removed 37 other, better performing schools, including the ones in Kern County.

With the removal of local schools, the state list now represents only 4 percent of Kern County's student enrollment.
