A school bus crash in downtown Bakersfield Wednesday sent several students to the hospital.  The Highway Patrol says the bus was carrying students on  a field trip when a car tried to turn in front of the bus.

The bus driver slammed on the brakes and a dozen students hit their heads on the seats in front of them. The students sustained only minor injuries.

The reason they don't have seatbelts is because it is a fire hazard. Look it up.

If the kids had their seat belts on they wouldn't have been injured. Oh yea, school busses aren't involved in accidents so they don't need seat belts for the riders.
