No threat was found when sheriff's deputies conducted a thorough search of both Standard schools Friday morning after an anonymous 911 call said there was a man with a gun on campus.
Classes resumed at about 11:30 a.m. Hundreds of parents had gathered at the two North Chester Avenue campuses, and many took their children home for the weekend.
A large team of deputies searched every single room in the two schools. California Highway Patrol Officers secured the perimeter of the school properties, and fire and ambulances stood by.
It began at 9:48 a.m. when the county's 911 center received an anonymous call that there was a man with a gun at one of the campuses.
A sheriff's deputy assigned to the schools immediately began securing the area as other deputies raced to the schools to help.
"This place is swarming with officers," said Channel 17's Kiyoshi Tomono. "I see sheriff's deputies and Highway Patrol officers, and officers with shotguns on campus."
By 11:30 a.m., the search was over. Nothing had been found, and the schools were considered to be safe.
