The Sheriff's Department is investigating a suspicious death in east Bakersfield.
Around 3:30 Friday afternoon, deputies were called to an apartment complex in the 1900 block of Quincy Street.
They say the landlord hadn't seen one of his tenants in almost a month and there was a foul odor coming from the tenant's apartment.
When deputies went inside, they found the tenant dead.
Sheriff's deputies say the death is considered suspicious because of what was found in the apartment. However, they would not elaborate.
