Fresh & Easy stores donated money to local schools Tuesday, the result of a fundraising program.

During the Shop for Schools fundraising program, participating schools had parents save their receipts. For every $20 spent at Fresh & Easy, the school got $1. $6,000 was given to four local schools on Tuesday.

Fresh & Easy says it's all about being apart of the community.

"With school budgets being cut everywhere, we felt as though it's part of our job as a good neighbor to give back and give them an opportunity to get some money back, to help them where they need it the most," said Nick Ammazzalorso, the Public Relations Event Manager.

Schools that received money Tuesday were Loudin, Valley Verde and Sandrini elementary schools and Stone Creek Junior High School.
