Postal Service to cut Saturday mail to trim costs

WASHINGTON (AP) - The financially struggling U.S. Postal Service says it plans to stop delivering mail on Saturdays, but continue delivering packages six days a week.

Most communication and the paying of bill can be done online. The need for mail has declined in the past several years. There are days I receive no mail.

Raise the cost on junk mail and mail payed under bulk rates. Maybe then there would be less paper sent to the land fill. For three months before turning 65 I received two to four letters a day from insurance companies wanting me to buy their Medicare coverage, which all went into the trash. The senior mafia, the AARP, continualy sends junk mail which goes into the trash. Banks and financial institutions want my business yet they pay virtualy nothing in interest but can afford to send their solicitation material several times a month. And all these are mailed at a lower rate than I can mail at.

Doing less for more money. It sounds like Obama is still our President.
