Charla was so beautiful and amazing. she loved everyone and took care of her brothers. we all loved her a great deal and it hurts me to see that none of these police officers or whoever it is that's in charge of this kind of stuff arent going to do anything to the woman that killed my cousin. I understand that it was an accident but if no one does anything about it, this will happen to someone else. How would they feel if that person was someone they loved. Charla's life was cut short because of a "buzzed" driver that was texting, and they really don't seem to care. But my family is very appreciative of everyones support in this, if we all stick together we can honor my older cousins life, by being safe on the road!! Ryde in peace Charla

Throw the b**** in jail where she belongs! I didn't know Charla but I'm sad that she died this way, slammed into by a DRUNK (remember that commercial, buzzed driving IS drunk driving. Supposedly cops are really cracking down on that, but I guess the commercial doesn't refer to the BPD) on her cell phone who DIDN'T EVEN BRAKE! She didn't break because she didn't see Charla there because she was ON HER FREAKIN PHONE! This could happen to anybody, even somebody I love, and that scares me. All because people can't put down their gdamn phones and pay attention to the road. I hope your phone call was worth the life you took! RIP Charla :(

I hope that the DA throws the book at Reynosa. This was a terrible, senseless accident that could have been prevented.

On a note related to this is that the riding community was gathered earlier that day for the 4th annual Jared Brown Memorial Bart B Que. For those who recall, Jared was taken from us 4 Years ago while riding his motorcycle by a repeat drunk driver. Until these incidents are taken more seriously and examples made of people, we will continue to bury our friends and loved ones due to the actions of others who will walk away with a slap on the wrist while the friends and family are left with an empty space for the rest of their lives.

Has this changed? "California’s underage DUI laws are among the toughest in the nation. Under the “Zero Tolerance Law”, anyone under 21 years of age with a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of 0.01% or greater will be charged with a DUI. Underage drivers with a BAC of 0.05% or greater may also be charged with both an underage DUI and a regular DUI at the same time and be subject to arrest for DUI"

So sick of tv reporters saying 'she was wearing all of her safety gear'. So if she wasn't would it be her fault that this idiot ran into her?

There is case law that allows prosecuting for DUI and getting a conviction, even when the BAC number is under the so-called "legal limit" BAC number can be interpreted as being impaired even under .08 and for a minor the case law allows an even easier conviction.

One thing I never understood, being a former police officer from a different state is that they give people under 21 a legal limit. In Wa. State it is .02. Why?? I have never understood this, and this is what we get to see. They won't charge her for DUI causing ( whatever they call it in CA.), because, someone under 21 was below the legal limit. Such a tragedy.
